Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine cranberry sauce, chopped pecans, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and orange zest if desired.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface, ensuring even thickness.
  4. Place the Brie cheese in the center of the puff pastry. Optionally, cut off the top rind.
  5. Spoon the cranberry-pecan mixture over the Brie, covering it well.
  6. Fold the puff pastry over the cheese and toppings, pinching the seams to seal.
  7. Place the wrapped Brie seam-side down on the lined baking sheet.
  8. Brush the puff pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
