Tofu Coating
  • 1 block Firm tofu Best for frying
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs For crispy texture
  • ½ cup All-purpose flour Helps breadcrumbs stick
Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Adds savory depth

  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil For frying

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Press the firm tofu to remove excess moisture, wrap in a kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for 15 minutes.
  2. Slice the tofu into even pieces, about ½ inch thick.
  3. Set up your breading station with all-purpose flour seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in one bowl and panko breadcrumbs in another.
Frying
  1. Dredge each tofu slice in the seasoned flour, dip in water, then coat in panko breadcrumbs.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Fry the breaded tofu slices for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Drain excess oil on paper towels before serving with your favorite sauces.
