- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan.
- Whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 0.5 teaspoon of salt.
- Beat together 0.25 cups of butter, 0.75 cups of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until light and fluffy.
- Add 2 eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth after each addition.
- Gradually mix in half of the flour mixture, then add 0.5 cups of milk and the remaining flour mixture.
- Combine 1 cup of chopped apples, 0.5 cups of brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Layer half of the batter in the loaf pan, followed by half of the apple mixture, swirled gently into the batter.
- Add the remaining batter over the first apple layer, topping with the last of the apple mixture and swirl lightly.
- Sprinkle 0.25 cups of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon over the top.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 to 20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Mix 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar with water for glaze and drizzle over the cooled loaf.
- Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
