Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 0.5 teaspoon of salt.
  3. Beat together 0.25 cups of butter, 0.75 cups of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until light and fluffy.
  4. Add 2 eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth after each addition.
  5. Gradually mix in half of the flour mixture, then add 0.5 cups of milk and the remaining flour mixture.
  6. Combine 1 cup of chopped apples, 0.5 cups of brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  7. Layer half of the batter in the loaf pan, followed by half of the apple mixture, swirled gently into the batter.
  8. Add the remaining batter over the first apple layer, topping with the last of the apple mixture and swirl lightly.
  9. Sprinkle 0.25 cups of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon over the top.
  10. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 to 20 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  12. Mix 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar with water for glaze and drizzle over the cooled loaf.
