Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with softened butter or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour the cookie dough into the greased baking pan and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle granulated sugar over the top of the cookie dough before baking.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10-15 minutes.
- Frost with your choice of frosting and top with sprinkles if desired.
- Cut into squares and serve.
