Preparation Steps
  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, semolina, salt, sugar, and dry yeast. Gradually add warm water while stirring until a sticky dough forms.
  2. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for at least 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions, roughly the size of a small apple.
  5. Coat each dough portion with vegetable oil and roll into smooth balls. Let rest for another 10 minutes.
  6. On a well-oiled work surface, flatten each dough ball into a thin square.
  7. Brush the flattened dough with melted butter and sprinkle fine semolina on top.
  8. Fold the sides of the dough towards the center to form a square shape.
  9. Repeat this process with the remaining dough balls.
  10. Preheat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat, lightly greased with vegetable oil.
  11. Cook each folded Msemen for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  12. Serve warm with honey, butter, or jam.
