Step-by-Step Instructions for Nutella Gingerbread Men
- In a large bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 2 teaspoons of ground ginger, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of ground cloves, and ½ teaspoon of salt. Whisk everything together until well mixed.
- In another large mixing bowl, beat 1 cup of softened butter with ¾ cup of brown sugar and ¾ cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in 1 large egg, ½ cup of molasses, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the creamed butter mixture. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually incorporate the whisked dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough begins to form.
- Wrap the dough tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
- On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about ¼-inch thickness.
- Use gingerbread man cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place each cutout onto your prepared baking sheets.
