Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, cold milk, egg, and vanilla. Chill.
  3. In another bowl, mix all-purpose flour, brown sugar, white sugar, spices, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Cut in cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  6. Shape dough into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
  7. Cut dough into squares or wedges and place on baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 17-18 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool on a rack for 10 minutes.
  10. Mix powdered sugar and cream for the glaze until smooth.
  11. Glaze each scone and allow to set.
  12. For spiced glaze, mix additional ingredients and pipe over scones.
  13. Allow spiced glaze to set for 15-20 minutes before serving.
