- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of white chocolate with 1 tablespoon of vegetable shortening. Heat in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring after each session until smooth and fully melted, about 1-2 minutes.
- Dip the bottom of one large marshmallow into the melted chocolate, making sure to coat it generously. Carefully place this marshmallow on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Take two additional large marshmallows and dip their bottoms in the melted chocolate as well. Stack them on top of the first marshmallow and gently press down to secure them together.
- Place your assembled marshmallow structure in the refrigerator for about 5-10 minutes to firm up.
- Using the remaining melted white chocolate, coat the entire structure evenly, applying it with a spoon.
- While the chocolate coating is still wet, quickly attach candy eyes to your marshmallows.
- After the chocolate has set completely, lightly dust your marshmallow figures with powdered sugar.
- Use your black edible marker to carefully draw a cute or slightly spooky smile on your marshmallow figures.
