Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine mixed berries, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and lemon zest.
  4. Slice the rolled-out puff pastry into rectangles.
  5. Place a spoonful of the berry filling down the center of each pastry rectangle.
  6. Fold the sides of each rectangle over the berry filling and pinch the edges to seal.
  7. Arrange the twisted pastries on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  8. Brush the tops of each pastry with the beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool slightly then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
