Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar and almond flour, and sift together. Set aside.

  3. Gradually add granulated sugar to the egg whites, beating until stiff peaks form. Add vanilla extract.
  4. Fold the almond flour mixture into the egg whites until the mixture flows like lava.
  5. Transfer batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto baking sheets lined with parchment.
  6. Allow macarons to sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms.
  7. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and bake the macarons for 15-18 minutes.
  8. Heat heavy cream in a saucepan and pour over chopped chocolate; stir until smooth to create ganache.
  9. Pair cooled macarons and pipe ganache onto one side; sandwich with another macaron.
  10. Melt chocolate to attach decorations; add candy eyes, red candies, and chocolate sprinkles.
  11. Arrange macarons on a platter and share with friends and family.
