Ingredients
  

For the Pastry
  • 1 sheet Puff pastry Thawed
For the Filling
  • 8 slices Deli ham Choose your favorite
  • 1 cup Cheese Any blend of cheddar or mozzarella
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard For enhancing flavor
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley Optional, for garnish
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the Egg Wash
  • 1 large Egg Beaten for brushing

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Gently roll out the thawed puff pastry until it's about ⅛ inch thick.
  3. Cut the pastry into rectangles approximately 3 inches by 5 inches.
  4. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard over one half of each pastry rectangle.
  5. Layer a slice of deli ham followed by a slice or sprinkle of cheese on top.
  6. Sprinkle some chopped fresh parsley if desired.
  7. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  8. Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and seal the edges tightly.
  9. Place the prepared sticks on the baking sheet with space between them.
  10. Brush the tops of each stick with the beaten egg.
  11. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  12. Let cool slightly before serving.
