Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté chopped onions for about 5 minutes until soft.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook for 7-10 minutes until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, milk, salt, and pepper; stir until smooth.
  5. Grease a baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
  6. Spread half of the ground beef mixture over the potato layer.
  7. Pour half of the soup mixture evenly over the ground beef layer.
  8. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and soup mixture in layers.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  10. After 1 hour, remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until melted.
  11. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
