Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt ½ cup of unsalted butter, stirring constantly until browned.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until smooth. Add 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, blending until incorporated. Fold in 3 ripe, mashed bananas.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour, 0.5 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet banana mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in 0.5 cup of brown sugar into the batter.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Optionally, place dollops of sugar cookie dough on top.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
