Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your skillet over medium heat for about 3–4 minutes until ready.
- Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally.
- Spread approximately ½ tablespoon of softened butter on the outer side of each roll half.
- On the inner side of each bottom roll half, spread around ½ tablespoon of mayonnaise.
- Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the mayo side of each bottom roll half, followed by ham and crushed pineapple if using, and top with another slice of cheddar.
- Carefully place the top half of each roll on the cheese, ensuring the buttered side is facing up.
- Place the assembled sandwich in the preheated skillet, cooking for about 3–4 minutes.
- Using a spatula, carefully flip the sandwich to cook the other side for an additional 3–4 minutes.
- Once both sides are golden, remove the grilled cheese from the skillet and allow it to cool for about a minute before slicing in half.
- Optionally, sprinkle chopped parsley over the grilled cheese before serving.
