Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your skillet over medium heat for about 3–4 minutes until ready.
  2. Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally.
  3. Spread approximately ½ tablespoon of softened butter on the outer side of each roll half.
  4. On the inner side of each bottom roll half, spread around ½ tablespoon of mayonnaise.
  5. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the mayo side of each bottom roll half, followed by ham and crushed pineapple if using, and top with another slice of cheddar.
  6. Carefully place the top half of each roll on the cheese, ensuring the buttered side is facing up.
  7. Place the assembled sandwich in the preheated skillet, cooking for about 3–4 minutes.
  8. Using a spatula, carefully flip the sandwich to cook the other side for an additional 3–4 minutes.
  9. Once both sides are golden, remove the grilled cheese from the skillet and allow it to cool for about a minute before slicing in half.
