- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat for 5 minutes.
- Spread butter generously on one side of each slice of rye bread.
- Layer each butter-side down slice with corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese.
- Top with remaining bread slices, butter-side up, and press gently.
- Grill for 3-4 minutes until bottom is golden brown; then flip and grill other side.
- Grill the second side for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove and let rest for a minute before cutting and serving.
