Ingredients

  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry
  • ½ cup Basil Pesto
  • 1 cup Grated Mozzarella Cheese
  • ½ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Egg for egg wash
  • To taste Hot Honey Sauce
  • To taste Red Pepper Flakes

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 360°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out one sheet of puff pastry until it’s about ⅛ inch thick and spread an even layer of basil pesto over it. Sprinkle grated mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the pesto.
  3. Lay a second sheet of puff pastry on top and slice it into 1-inch strips, leaving about a 2-inch strip at the top.
  4. Fold each pastry strip over itself multiple times to create a tree shape, inserting a skewer into the bottom of each tree.
  5. Cut out small star shapes from the reserved pastry and place on top of each tree. Brush the surface lightly with egg wash.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Drizzle with hot honey and sprinkle with red pepper flakes before serving.
