Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 325-350℉ (162-175℃) according to the baking pan size.
  2. Mix the vanilla cake mix, neutral oil, milk, and eggs in a large bowl until smooth, then bake in the oven.
  3. Once baked, crumble the cake into a large bowl using a paddle attachment.
  4. Make buttercream by mixing unsalted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and milk until creamy.
  5. Combine the buttercream with the crumbled cake and mix thoroughly until it holds together.
  6. Shape the mixture into balls about 1¼ inches in diameter and chill in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  7. Melt the candy melts in the microwave and dip the lollipop sticks before inserting them into the cake balls.
  8. Chill the cake pops again for 15 minutes to set.
  9. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy melts and allow excess to drip off.
  10. Decorate with sprinkles before the coating sets, then place vertically to dry.
