- Mix the vanilla cake mix, neutral oil, milk, and eggs in a large bowl until smooth, then bake in the oven.
- Once baked, crumble the cake into a large bowl using a paddle attachment.
- Make buttercream by mixing unsalted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and milk until creamy.
- Combine the buttercream with the crumbled cake and mix thoroughly until it holds together.
- Shape the mixture into balls about 1¼ inches in diameter and chill in the freezer for 15 minutes.
- Melt the candy melts in the microwave and dip the lollipop sticks before inserting them into the cake balls.
- Chill the cake pops again for 15 minutes to set.
- Dip each cake pop into the melted candy melts and allow excess to drip off.
- Decorate with sprinkles before the coating sets, then place vertically to dry.
