Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare your baking dish.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and lay flat on a clean kitchen towel.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat for about 8-10 minutes. Drain the excess fat.
  4. Add garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in marinara sauce and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.
  6. In the prepared baking dish, layer meat sauce, 4 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, and a third of the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat layers, finishing with meat sauce topped with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let lasagna rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow layers to set.
