Step-by-Step Instructions for Oven-Baked Salmon Sushi Bites
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Rinse 2 cups of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, combine rinsed sushi rice and 2 ½ cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover. Let it simmer for 18-20 minutes until water is absorbed.
- In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt. Heat gently until dissolved, then fold this mixture into your cooled rice.
- Slice salmon fillet into small, bite-sized pieces and set aside.
- Lightly grease a baking dish with cooking oil and spread a layer of seasoned sushi rice at the bottom.
- Arrange salmon pieces on top of the sushi rice layer.
- Slice the avocado into thin wedges and place them on top of the salmon layer.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes in the preheated oven until salmon flakes easily and is opaque.
- Let the dish cool slightly before slicing into individual bites.
