- In a tall glass, combine ½ cup of fresh blackberries, 2 tablespoons of simple syrup or granulated sugar, and 6–8 fresh mint leaves. Muddle gently for about 30 seconds.
- Squeeze ½ lime juice into the muddled mixture. Stir well for another 15-20 seconds.
- Optionally strain the mixture through a fine sieve into a clean glass.
- Fill the glass about ¾ full with ice cubes.
- Slowly pour in 1 cup of chilled club soda or sparkling water. Stir gently.
- Top the drink with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
