- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil and butter. Allow the butter to melt and foam for 1-2 minutes.
- Add trimmed green beans to the skillet and sauté for 4-5 minutes until bright green and tender.
- Push green beans to one side and add sliced mushrooms. Cook for 5-6 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix green beans and mushrooms together, then stir in minced garlic and thyme. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Season the mixture with salt and black pepper to taste and stir well.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish.
