Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan with cooking spray or olive oil.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Transfer half the meat mixture into the greased loaf pan, pressing it down firmly to create an even layer.
- Layer the cheddar cheese over the pressed meat mixture, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Add the remaining meat mixture on top of the cheese layer and press it down gently to seal the edges.
- Spread ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) and the top caramelizes.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes
Allowing the meatloaf to rest helps keep it juicy and flavorful. Perfect for making sandwiches with leftovers.
