Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, ¾ cup of granulated sugar, and ¾ cup of packed brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add in 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly followed by 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of salt, then gradually fold into the wet mixture.
  5. Gently fold in 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop the dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until edges are golden; the centers should look slightly soft.
  8. Let cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
