Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Wash the fresh jalapeno peppers and remove the stems. For milder salsa, slice and scoop out seeds. Set aside.
  2. Place prepared jalapenos in a blender. Add pickled jalapeno juice if desired, ensuring lid is secure.
  3. Add sour cream, mayonnaise, cilantro, lime juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Blend on high speed for 30-45 seconds until smooth and creamy. Scrape down sides halfway through.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, lime juice, or jalapeno juice if needed, blending briefly again.
  6. Pour salsa into a serving bowl or sealable container using a spatula to avoid leaving any behind.
  7. Cover with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to meld flavors.
  8. Serve chilled with tortilla chips or as a sauce for tacos, burritos, or grilled meats.
